Origins and Objectives

The Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise is an autonomous institution, recognised by the laws of Malta. Membership is open to all merchants, bankers, manufacturers and others interested in commerce, industry, shipping, insurance, tourism and other forms of trade of the Maltese Islands.

Its main object is to promote and protect business interests. Towards this end, the Chamber collects, circulates and publishes statistics and other information relating to the sectors mentioned above. It is the policy of the Chamber to promote free competitive enterprise by supporting, or, if need be, resisting any laws and regulations affecting business interests.

The Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise can also act as arbitrator in the settlement of disputes connected with commerce, industry, shipping etc., and it attends to inquiries and problems in relation to these sectors.
